Our Vision

La Maison is French for ‘the house’ or ‘home’. This is the feeling that we aim to cater to our customers. All our meals are cooked fresh with care and love just like home. As soon as you walk through the door you will fall in love; the cosy atmosphere is unresistingly enticing and the warmth of the open wood fire place captivating. Our wish is for you to feel right at home, read the newspaper or catch up with friends whilst having a cup of our excellent coffee and scrumptious cakes or choose from our great selection of delicious meals.

The inspiration for the name comes from the building itself with the look of a quaint little wooden cottage. It is a building of great historical significance for the region; it acted as the customs house in the second half of the 1800s when New South Wales and Victoria first separated. Because of its historical usage, it is ideally situated right in the middle of the cities of Albury (New South Wales) and Wodonga (Victoria). The building stands surrounded by other old buildings simulating a village frozen in time.

We, the owners, are husband and wife from two different origins but united in our vision. We envisage ‘La Maison Café’ as crossroads for different cultures since we do appreciate the beauty of diversity. Situated along a major travelling intersection it is the perfect meeting place for people from all over the country. Diversity is also reflected in our meals from the various regions of the Mediterranean, Middle East, and other parts of the world. We guarantee that the meals will be different, special and addictive.

Your are most welcome to ‘La Maison Café’; our home, your home.
